Set Goals.

So what do you want to achieve? Without clearly outlining what your goals are, it’s going to be quite challenging to achieve them.

What are they? Specifically. How are we going to measure your progress? How realistic are they? When do you want to reach these goals?

Ok. Now, why?

As your coaches it is pivotal that we not only know, but completely understand the answers to all of these questions. Especially the why - because if we do, then you sure as hell do.

The goals you set will be present in everything we do. Your mindset must be in line with them. Your training will be programmed to achieve them. Your nutrition will be tailored toward them. And your recovery will be essential for them.

The first element to any program is your goal.

Your goal should be relevant in everything you do when it comes to your health and wellness plan. How can we as coaches help you reach your goal if we don’t know what it is? Better yet, how can you as an individual reach your goal if you don’t even know what it is. What is your goal? Not anyone else’s goal. Not something you think you should do. Not something you were told to do. We want you to vividly describe your goal. We want you to own it and be motivated by it. If you are not motivated by your goal then we’re unsure whether it really is your goal.

Now answer these questions. Why do you want to achieve this goal? How will it impact your life? When do you want to achieve this? What has gotten in the way of you achieving this in the past? Are you ready to make the necessary changes it will take to achieve this goal?

Here’s a coaching tip: write down and communicate your goals. Yes, you read that right. Communicate them. Either to your coach, your partner, your family or your friends. Put it out there into the world. Make it real and bring it to life. It’s easier to give up on a goal that nobody knows about. That way you can fail in secrecy and internalize the shame you feel from it. Sound familiar? Does to us. Here’s a fun fact though - we have all experienced not reaching a goal. The important part here is to reflect on why you didn’t succeed and then assess whether you are ready, willing and able to do what it will take to achieve that goal at that specific time.

A crucial part to any goal is honesty. Be honest with yourself. How realistic is this goal? Have you tried doing this before? What got in the way? Will this happen again? These are all questions that must be answered when it comes to your goals.
